On the road to #NeuchatelSevens 43rd edition “C’était mieux avant”!

A tribute to The Good ol’ days!

Today: The Casualty

Lucien-Philomène de la Royale aka « Boeuf Bourguignon » or « Lulu La Crampe”, when french flair meets swiss precision.

Lucien-Philomène was spotted by legendary coach Von Fourchette und Fourchette at the Foire du Trône in Paris in 1904. This healthy and impressive man for his size was displaying the art of hammering the high striker in a series of strongman games. LPDLR, was trying hard to pay his debt to society when “Sigi” approached him. Born as a burgundy noble man, Lulu La Crampe was sentenced to 5 years in Guyana Club Med after a dreadful brawl in a Parisian brasserie about a misinterpretation of the famous recipe « Boeuf Bourguignon ».

LPDLR arrived in Neuchâtel the same year, carrying a serious reputation. Unfortunately, handicapped by a multitude of unexpected injuries happening just minutes before every single game, the « Boeuf Bourguignon », only too rarely displayed his very unique and tasteful mix of french flair associated and eagerness to mess with the opponent. Sorry pleonasm.

After retiring from a successful career with the Golden legends of 1907, Lulu la Crampe started a watchmaking company after WWI.
