On the road to #NeuchatelSevens 43rd edition “C’était mieux avant”!

A tribute to The Good ol’ days!

Today: The Prop

Sancho Lopetegui del Puigodet aka « El Barbaridad del Patanegra » or « Casse-noisette », iconic prop of the 1907 era.

Sancho grew up in a remote area called Le Landeron. Forced to work since his early years to survive in this wild region, you could see him traveling from town to town, preceded by his green lantern and offering his raw strength.

Rumor says that Sancho had a brother, kind a jet-setter organizing huge parties where Neuchâtel’s aristocracy gone wild.

What’s sure is that Sancho was a fierce player turning to beast mode once he got on a rugby field. This guy loved so much scrums that he was actually committing intentional knock-on to get an opportunity to squeeze again the neck of his opponent!
